Breastfeeding Bill needs resources

Scotsman

The Scottish Socialist Party’s health spokeswoman, Carolyn Leckie, supported the bill for addressing "prejudice and stigma" against breastfeeding.

However, she warned it was not a "panacea" to improve breastfeeding rates and called for more resources to support and encourage new mothers breastfeeding, "otherwise it is just a piece of paper".

The bill commits ministers to take all reasonable steps to support and encourage breastfeeding, including information campaigns.
